Malta Travel Guide for Summer 2021

Malta is well known for its splendid mild climate, great quality of life, low crime rate, and friendly welcoming people. Being an attractive place to live or own a second holiday home, Malta offers excellent air links, a picturesque landscape, and numerous leisure and joy opportunities. In this Malta Travel Guide, we have prepared a list of things, that every visitor needs to do in Malta.

Even though Malta isn’t known as a diving destination, the island is surrounded by incredible cliffs and a plethora of shipwrecks that are great for diving expeditions. Besides, the water in most of the places is transparently clear and offers excellent visibility.

 Visit the Blue Lagoon

The famous Blue Lagoon is situated between Comino and Cominotto and is the most iconic beach in Malta. On the weekend it can get incredibly busy so it is better to come early to stake out a good spot. We also suggest visiting other beaches nearby and around the island, as there are no crowds and they are as beautiful as the Lagoon. To go to Gozo and Blue Lagoon you will need to take a private boat.

Visit Marsaxlokk Fish Market

Well-know Marsaxlokk Fish Market opens every Sunday morning. The market is a bit touristy and crowded but it’s the best place for buying all kinds of fresh fish. In addition, you can easily find a lot of other items such as honey, vegetables, all kind of local goods and nice restaurants around the market.

Take a Cruise Around Malta

To get a different view of Malta, we suggest taking a ride around the coastline. To do so, you can hire a boat or a small yacht, the trips usually include lunch and last between 7-8 hours. Also, the captains stop off at a few beaches and show some of the many shipwrecks.

 Exploring Popeye Village

Popeye Village started out as the film set in the 1980s. Today, Popeye musical is a large tourist attraction that allows to explore the village, watch documentaries and play mini-golf.
