Program Benefits

Malta Citizenship by investment program grants the applicant and applicant’s family visa-free access to more than 182 countries including the European Union, United Kingdom, United States, and Canada. The program allows taxation on a remittance basis for non-domiciled individuals and extensive treaty protection from double taxation. The alternative EU citizenship can be acquired also by spouse, children, adult dependants, and parents of the main applicant as well as is transferable to descendants.

Investment Options

Malta Citizenship by investment program requires a minimum investment in a range of €700,000 - €1,460,000, depending on whether an applicant decides to purchase or lease a property. Out of this amount, a non-refundable €600,000 - €750,000 will be contributed to the national development fund set up by the government. The applicant should also rent a property for at least five years at €18,000 per year or buy real estate starting from €700,000. In addition to that, a €10,000 donation should be made for a non-profitable organisation.

1. 600,000 - €750,000 non-refundable national development fund contribution AND

  • €600,000 – investment must be held for 3 years before applying for citizenship
  • €750,000 – investment must be held for 1 year before applying for citizenship

2. €90,000 - €700,000 rent lease or property purchase AND

  • €90,000 – rent amount for 5 years (€18,000 per annum) OR €700,000 – minimum property purchase

3. €10,000 donation

  • 10,000 donation should be made for a non-profitable organisation. The donation can be divided between several organisations.
